Sanjay Sinha

I was born on August 22, 1967, in Varanasi. My father, the late Shri Gyanchand Sinha, worked in a junior position within the Railways. We were four siblings in all, but my father was also a farmer. Fundamentally, we hail from Dudwa—a small village in Saidabad, near Allahabad. My father worked tirelessly to educate all four of us. I attended a government school, and our home was situated approximately three kilometers away. I lived with my father in government-allocated housing, and the walk to school was often so arduous that I would occasionally develop blisters on my feet. This was because my father did not have sufficient funds to provide footwear—be it slippers or shoes—for all four of us siblings. Subsequently, I continued my studies and successfully completed my 12th grade. After graduating, I realized that my father was not in a financial position to support our further advancement, nor could he help us establish a business. Consequently, I began looking for a government job. Eventually, I secured a modest position within the Railways. I completed the requisite training and served in a Class III administrative role. However, my vision extended beyond that. I aspired to do something meaningful for my country, and to achieve that, I knew I had to venture beyond the confines of a conventional job.

Thus, the job did not truly appeal to me; a salaried position would have allowed me to think only of myself and my immediate family. I always felt a deep-seated urge to think about the nation and to contribute something toward its welfare. Since my earnings at the time were quite meager, I decided to pursue entrepreneurship.
I started with small-scale ventures—selling *samosas*, ice cream, and various other small items. By diligently saving the earnings from these small businesses, I eventually established a pump manufacturing factory; following that, I began manufacturing air coolers.

Gradually, the scope of my business operations continued to expand. As I continued to engage in these various business activities, I made it a practice to donate a portion of my earnings to the poor and needy. Being a follower of Sanatan Dharma, I also regularly engaged in religious worship and rituals. And amidst all these endeavors, I continued to grow and progress, step by step. So, I felt that we ought to step forward and provide assistance to people. However, back then, I couldn’t find anyone to join hands with—no one to support me in moving forward and making a difference. But after 2014, a new ray of hope emerged with the arrival of a government—a secular government—that truly cared for the well-being of everyone. Inspired by this vision… I began to reflect upon the footsteps of our Honorable Prime Minister; just as he rose from being a humble tea-seller to occupy such a high and responsible office today, I, too, aspired to become a humble servant of the people. I resolved that I, too, must do my part. And so, I set out on that very path, gradually doing whatever I could, little by little. I would go out into the villages. Even to this day, I continue to educate several children; in fact, my efforts in this regard have reached a point where I am currently sponsoring a student through her engineering degree. That young woman is studying at Galgotias University. I hold a deep affection for her, as I have always held women in the highest regard and respect. I am constantly preoccupied with certain concerns. I worry about how our nation’s youth can progress, how our women can advance, and how the issues facing our farmers can be resolved. Therefore, I always strive to offer whatever small assistance lies within my means. I provide help in whatever capacity I can—sometimes, for instance, by paying a student’s tuition fees. I do not possess vast wealth. There is a specific reason for this: I have never established an NGO. I refrained from creating an NGO precisely for this reason. The underlying principle was that I wanted to provide assistance using only the money I had earned myself. And whenever someone approached me offering a donation, I would adhere to my personal principle: that I would not set up an NGO to receive funds. Instead, I would tell them: “If you truly wish to join me in this cause, go out and personally help any two needy individuals you encounter; that act, in itself, will constitute your contribution and support to me.” My vision was distinct from the rest; had I established an NGO today—or perhaps a charitable trust—it would have inevitably involved financial contributions from others. Consequently, if any irregularities had arisen in the financial accounts, I would have been unable to answer to my own conscience, for my sole vision was to do something meaningful for our country. Thus, we set this vision in motion. Subsequently—feeling that the next logical step was to engage in party politics—I joined the Republican Party of India (RPI). This is the very party originally founded by Babasaheb in 1958; I joined its ranks under the leadership of the Honorable Minister, Shri Ramdas Athawale Ji. I joined the party in the humble capacity of a grassroots worker. I intend to move forward alongside the Honorable Minister—following the path he has charted—learning from his guidance while simultaneously dedicating myself to the service of the nation. I look forward to your support and hope that you will all join us on this platform, marching shoulder-to-shoulder with us. Furthermore, should we make any errors or if you have any suggestions to offer, please do let us know via our portal so that we may continue to progress on our journey.
As far as my achievements are concerned, during my initial phase, I gradually worked on earning the trust of the people. This, in itself, was one of my key achievements. And that trust has endured. I continued to build upon those successes. Being an athlete myself, I also actively participated in sports. I used to play basketball and regularly interacted with fellow athletes. Inspired by this, I organized a football tournament—specifically, a tournament that included women participants. I also organized a State-level Football Championship, which drew participants from across the entire state and was hosted right here in Varanasi. Even back then, I harbored a deep passion for the world of sports; and now, I have attained what I consider to be the greatest achievement of my life. I have been appointed as the National Vice President of the RPI. Having been entrusted with such faith, I will strive to live up to those expectations; furthermore, working alongside our Honorable Prime Minister, I aim to contribute my own humble share toward the nation’s development.
